Which part of Antalya is yours?
Antalya isn't one place. The old city, the beach district, the waterfall coast and the ancient-ruins corridor are different worlds. Here's how to choose where to stay.

The Soul of Old Antalya
Kaleiçi is the ancient walled city — a labyrinth of Ottoman mansions, Roman ruins, and narrow cobblestone lanes that spill out onto a yacht-filled harbour. It's the historic heart of Antalya and the best place to lose yourself for an afternoon. Every corner hides a courtyard restaurant, a crumbling minaret, or a rooftop bar with harbour views.
- →Hadrian's Gate — 2,000-year-old Roman triumphal arch
- →Roman harbour — still used by wooden gulets and day-tour boats
- →Hesapçı Sokak — rooftop bar strip with harbour views
Beach, Cliffs & City Life
Konyaaltı is Antalya's western coastal district — a long pebble beach backed by the Taurus Mountains, with a relaxed promenade, beach clubs, and the Antalya Museum. Less touristy than Kaleiçi, this is where locals swim, cycle the beachfront, and grab a çay with views of the Beydağları peaks turning pink at sunset.
- →Konyaaltı Beach — 7km of pebble shore, mountain backdrop
- →Antalya Museum — one of Turkey's great archaeological collections
- →Atatürk Park & Falezler cliffs — dramatic coastal walking path
Waterfalls, Beaches & Resort Strip
Lara is Antalya's eastern resort corridor — wide sandy beaches, the dramatic Düden waterfall that drops straight into the sea, and a strip of all-inclusive hotels. It feels different from the city centre, more spacious and green, and it's worth visiting even if you're not staying here: the coastal path to the waterfall is one of the best short walks in the area.
- →Düden Waterfalls — waterfall that falls directly into the Mediterranean
- →Lara Beach — wide sandy beach, calmer than Konyaaltı
- →Boat tours from the old harbour to see the cliffs
Golf, Ruins & Day-Trip Country
Belek sits 30km east of Antalya and is famous for world-class golf resorts — but that's not why you should come. It's the gateway to Aspendos (the best-preserved Roman theatre on earth), Perge ancient city, and the Köprülü Canyon. Stay in the city and take a morning day trip: you can cover Aspendos and Perge in a single day and be back for dinner in Kaleiçi.
- →Aspendos Theatre — Roman theatre still used for opera, 47km from city
- →Perge Ancient City — colonnaded streets, baths, a 12,000-seat stadium
- →Köprülü Canyon — rafting through a gorge with Roman bridge
