Privacy Policy

Antalya Local Guide (antalyalocalguide.com) is a small, independent local guide to Antalya, Turkey. We collect as little personal data as possible and never sell it. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK, No. 6698) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who is responsible

The data controller is Antalya Local Guide, Antalya, Turkey. For any privacy question or request, email hello@antalyalocalguide.com.

What we collect and why

• Walking tour bookings — name, email, optional phone number, date, time and group size. Used to confirm your place, contact you about the tour, and (once) ask for a review afterwards.
• Contact and day tour requests — name, email, optional phone/WhatsApp number and your message. Used only to answer you.
• Reviews — the name and comment you submit. Shown publicly on the tour page once approved.
• Supporter donations — when you support us via BuyMeACoffee, they send us your name, email and the amount so we can email your supporter code. PayPal donations are handled by PayPal, which shows us the sender's name and email; if you then message us on WhatsApp for your code, we see your WhatsApp number and name. We never see your card or bank details.
• Guide accounts — name, email, profile details and a securely hashed password.
• Technical logs — our hosting provider processes IP addresses and request data to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Legal bases: performing the service you asked for (bookings, requests, supporter codes), your consent (reviews), and our legitimate interest in running and securing the site.

Cookies and browser storage

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser's local storage keeps your saved favourites, your supporter code and your cookie-notice choice, so they persist between visits. This data stays on your device; clear your browser data to remove it. Admin and guide logins use a strictly necessary session cookie.

Who processes data for us

• Cloudflare — hosting, database and security.
• Resend — sending booking and reply emails.
• PayPal and BuyMeACoffee — processing donations.
• OpenStreetMap — map tiles; your browser requests them directly, which shares your IP address with their servers.
• WhatsApp — only if you choose to message us there.

Some of these providers store data outside Turkey and the EU (for example in the United States). They are bound by their own privacy and data-transfer commitments.

How long we keep it

Bookings and requests are kept for up to 2 years so we can handle questions and follow-ups, then deleted. Approved reviews stay published until you ask us to remove them. Supporter codes are kept for as long as they remain valid.

Your rights

You can ask us to tell you what data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or send you a copy. Email hello@antalyalocalguide.com and we'll reply within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) or, in the EU, your local data protection authority.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
